I'm Sumaiya Alam — more than a product designer — a digital storyteller. I have always been captivated by the art of designing and my journey in this field has been nothing short of exhilarating.
From Floor Plans to Wireframes: My Story
My curiosity for science and design led me to pursue architecture in college, where I spent many hours designing 3D spaces and envisioning structures that harmonize with their environment. However, I was drawn to the idea of designing experiences that could impact people on a more personal and interactive level.
The Turning Point
I always loved designing but aimed for a fast-paced industry to express my creativity and knowledge profoundly.
I am a self-taught product designer who learnt how to implement her creative thinking into digital screens to create a greater impact. The transition felt natural to me—where architecture taught me the importance of design sense, product design allowed me to dive into the psychology of user behavior and enter into the digital spaces.
Beyond Design
When I'm not designing, you will find me exploring this wonderful life. I believe my socialization skills out of work with friends and family helps me understand human nature better. Besides, that architect inner me also has a passion towards 3D modelling and photography.
Best part of me? I'm an painter too! I paint about all I think. Landscapes and colors are another way of expressing my creativity. It's great because it continues to fuel my creativity and inspire me to think outside the box in my design work.
